Day 39: The End of Abortion
Right now in the United States almost a million precious children are aborted every year. That’s about 3000 babies lost every single day. It is by far the leading cause of death in our country.
But imagine the day when that will end… the day when abortion is illegal once again and seen for what it really is – a cruel form of genocide against the most innocent and helpless segment of the human race.
One thing I have appreciated about “40 Days for Life” is that the goal we are working toward is clear: to end abortion. After praying for forty days, I now believe that goal is realistic and achievable!
“… with God all things are possible.”
(Matthew 19:26)
The fact is the tide is turning in our country:
One thing we can be thankful for is the rise of “Heartbeat Legislation” across the country, which outlaws abortion after a heartbeat can be detected in the womb (about 6 weeks after conception.) Since 2011, 30 States have proposed such legislation, and 14 States have signed it into law.
Even the liberal Huffington Post published a poll in 2013 that showed Americans favor a 20-week limit on abortion two-to-one. This mirrors laws in countries like Denmark, Italy, Germany, France, and England which all restrict abortions after the first trimester (12 weeks).
Why is there a swelling movement around the globe to restrict abortions after the first trimester? Because it’s undeniable that what is growing inside a mother’s womb is a human being! Science has proved it, and ultrasound has made it abundantly clear. That’s why 80% of the women who get an ultrasound decide to keep their baby!
People are starting to wake up to the fact that unborn children are human beings, and as such they have rights and deserve protection.
Do you believe that all human beings should have equal rights? If you do, then logically you should be pro-life and stand up for the rights of unborn children!
At Campus Bible Church, we will continue to fight for the rights of the unborn and share the message of abundant life that is found in Christ.
Tomorrow is the final day of the Spring 40 Days for Life campaign, and we will be starting a brand-new series of devotionals for the Passion Week leading up to Easter Sunday.
So now that the 40 Days for Life campaign is ending, what should you do next?
The answer is: “Whatever the Lord shows you.”
Vote to protect the rights of the unborn. Make sure whoever you vote for is Pro-Life, and hold your leaders accountable.
Support Pro-Life organizations like the Pregnancy Care Center.
Continue standing up for life in front of abortion clinics like Planned Parenthood.
And whatever you do, keep praying for God to end the holocaust of abortion!
As we wrap up this 40-day prayer devotional, I want to thank you for going on this journey with me. Thank you for your time… thank you for your tears… and thank you for all your heartfelt prayers.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.
Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,
because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
(1 Corinthians 15:58)

The fact is the tide is turning in our country:
- The abortion rate is at the lowest point since 1973.
- A majority of Americans now identity themselves as Pro-Life.
- Hundreds of laws have been enacted restricting abortion access.
- Abortion facilities went down from 1720 to 1587 in a period of 6 years.
- And the Supreme Court may be on the brink of overturning Roe vs. Wade.
