"Preserved"
“…. I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
2 Timothy 1:12b
To PRESERVE is defined as: 1. to keep safe from injury, harm or destruction: protect. 2. to keep alive, intact, or free from decay.
The question is, is God able to preserve His children and His promises, in a world filled with pain and harm? Is He attentive enough to the state of His children, to watch over them when their vulnerabilities are evident and exposed. Ultimately, can the powers of darkness conquer over the will of the Kingdom of Light?
Sometimes we have to ask the obvious questions to address our fragile hearts and minds when they are effected by dominate forces in our world, that supersede logic and understanding. This broken planet has the capacity to cook up overwhelming strain on the heart for even the most confident Christ-follower. But thanks be to God… DARKNESS CAN NEVER OVERCOME LIGHT! Darkness only wins, in the absence of light, and the “Father of Lights” is surely not absent or asleep!
Psalm 121:1-4 says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
Did you begin today with a confidence that you’re in the powerful grip of the Father, or are the circumstances of life crushing over your head and drowning your assurance. Romans 10:17 reminds us, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” So I pray today that the anchor of the Word would hold our hearts fast, injects us with faith at each juncture, and reminds us over and over that God is willing and able to keep us… preserved!
