Come and See
There are so many wonderful proclamations to the Lord in Revelation 4 and 5…
“Holy, holy holy
Lord god Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!"
“Your are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”
“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.”
“Worthy is the Lam who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
“Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
And then chapter 6 begins with the opening of the seals. I noticed that for the first 4 seals that the Lamb opened, the living creatures beckoned John to “Come and See.” And what he sees is the conquering judgment of the Lord over the earth.
Sometimes I want to live in the naivety of basking in the wonderful goodness of the Holiness of the Lord and close myself off to the reality that His Holiness is just. Sometimes the “Come and See” is a warning to the judgment that lies ahead. It is this that should drive me to stand firm in my convictions. But it is also breaking my heart for the lost and compelling me to cry out to the goodness of God...
“Lord, knowing the Holy judgment that is to come, help me to express Your love with compassion, without wavering.”
Goodness Of God [Lyrics] [Bethel Arrangment ] by Ed Cash and Jenn Johnson
Verse 1
I love You Lord
Oh Your mercy never fails me
All my days I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
I will sing of the goodness of God
Chorus 1
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God
Verse 2
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night
You are close like no other
I've known You as a father
I've known You as a friend
I have lived in the goodness of God
Misc 1 (Bridge)
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
With my life laid down
I’m surrendered now
I give You everything
Your goodness is running after
It's running after me
